Galway Harbour Company's new website

Galway Harbour Company's new website went live on Tuesday March 2nd. According to Harbour Chief Executive Eamon Bradshaw this is another step in the Harbour's public consultation process. "We want the people of Galway to see exactly what it is we are proposing for our new Port development and most importantly we want to elicit their feedback. The website incorporates a confidential feedback forum whereby people can pass on their comments to us in private and whether those comments are good, bad or indifferent we welcome them."

Galway Harbour Company has been engaging with national and local government as well as residents groups, fishing groups, sailing groups and business groups for the past 2 years in relation to its new development. It will also be engaging in a robust public consultation process in April/May of this year where the general public can attend presentations and ask questions in relation to the proposed development.

The development will create not just a new port but also allow for the evolution of a new Galway Harbour Village in the old port area. This area will become an extension of Galway city.

Mr. Bradshaw went on to say that providing details of the development on the website and streaming an animated video of the proposed development will help to visualise for people exactly what the Harbour are proposing. Along with providing confidential feedback people can stay up to date with regular progress updates not just from the website but from Galway Harbour Company's twitter, face book and U- tube pages. People are very busy and this is an easy way for them to be part of our consultation process.
