The Marine Industry Awards 2016 have announced as taking place on the 30th of June 2016 in association with SeaFest 2016.
The awards will be held in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway for the first time. Formerly known as the Maritime Industry Awards, this year’s awards ceremony will encompass all aspects of the maritime and marine sectors, and celebrate their contribution to the Irish economy. The Marine Industry Awards provide a voice for the individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry in Ireland while recognising the key functions within the industry that promote growth and sustainability.
The 2016 Marine Industry Awards categories cater for entrants ranging from manufacturing, port operations, logistics & commercial excellence to innovation, tourism & leisure, sustainability, aquaculture, education as well as many others. The period for submission for entries is now open for companies or individuals. This year, a new award, the Gradam Mara Ghorm, or the Blue Seas Award has been introduced. This award recognises an Irish-based organisation which has gone the extra mile to demonstrate a commitment to compliance with EU and national sea-fisheries and food safety legislation.
