This event offers a great venue for researchers, policy makers and industry representatives to get together and contribute to the discussion on how research and innovation can reshape the transport and mobility system. The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear about mobility trends in different parts of Europe, learn from achievements in industry as well as share best practices of policies and deployments.
In June of 2021 the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the Partnership on Zero-Emission Waterborne Transport (ZEWT) was published. SRIA publication was preceded by a two-month open Consultation during summer of 2020, which provided feedback that was incorporated in the final version of the document.
The Port of Cork Company (PoCC) Masterplan outlines its plans and ambitions over the next three decades and provides an integrated framework for the port to strategically plan and adapt to meet the needs of Ireland’s future social, economic and environmental development. It includes plans to support the green energy sector and a roadmap outlining the Port’s ‘River to Sea’ journey, consolidating all activities in the lower harbour by 2050.
This will now facilitate the completion of the final site investigations and paves the way for its planning application to be submitted in time and for the facility to be operational to meet the needs of the successful bidders in the ORESS-1 auctions.

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, announces plans to develop a National Industrial Strategy for Offshore Wind which will set out how Ireland can maximise the economic opportunity arising from the production of Offshore Wind Energy (OWE).
The Convention changes the status of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities or IALA from a Non-Governmental Organisation to an Intergovernmental Organisation (IGO). The status of IGO will give further weight to the standards and recommendations of IALA, leading to greater compliance and navigational safety.
With a sea area seven times the size of our land area, Ireland has immense potential for wind, wave and tidal energy that can aid in delivery of our long-term climate goals. The Rosslare-Zeebrugge route was established last summer when Finnlines put its MS Finnwave ship to work for freight customers and the company has announced that it's adding a second roll on-roll off vessel to the service.
