MarTERA Co-funded Call 2017
ERAnet MarTERA launch transnational call for collaborative research projects in different areas of maritime and marine technologies.

The ERAnet MarTERA, of which Ireland is a partner have just launched a transnational call for collaborative research projects in different areas of maritime and marine technologies. The overall goal of the ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA) in maritime and marine technologies as well as Blue Growth. The ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is a network of 18 ministries, authorities and funding organisations responsible for funding research and innovation projects in maritime and marine technologies from 16 countries. Details of the call can be found on the MarTERA website here. Within the scope of the call Irish partners can be funded in projects on several areas covered by the call including “Novel materials development and structures, Sensors, automation, monitoring and observations”. The total Irish fund available is €1M, with minimum and maximum project awards running from €150k to €350k. The successful projects will run for a maximum of 3 years, and require a minimum of 2 participating countries.
This call is being run as a 2 stage process. The closing date for stage 1 applications is March 30th 2017, and with full submissions to those advancing to stage 2 due 08 Sept 2017. The Marine Institute will be running an information day on this call in late January 2017, and further details will be available on this site.
