A project located on the Shannon Estuary that will re-purpose an existing site to provide specialist infrastructure and accommodation, making the facility available for maritime and cruise liner related training as well as a test bed for renewable technologies receives €1,759,226 in funding.

A revolutionary €35m floating data centre is set to be moored on the banks of the River Shannon, in a move which could create 124 jobs.

The IMDO have produced a report, “The implications of Brexit on the Use of the Landbridge”. The report uses quantitative and qualitative methods to determine the volume of Irish imports and exports that use the UK landbridge on an annual basis. The report also proposes seven Government recommendations to mitigate against any negative impacts of Brexit on Irish economic sectors and transport routes.
