The French Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne met with Transport Minister Shane Ross in Dublin on November 23rd 2018. They discussed European affairs and the France-Ireland maritime relation. The two ministers also examined an extension of maritime links between French and Irish ports - and potential maritime cooperation projects.

Following the very successful launch of the Smart Maritime Network in Athens and Tokyo - with over 150 delegates in Athens, and over 200 predicted for Tokyo - this third SMN conference in Copenhagen will provide a platform to promote the benefits of enhanced integration and data sharing among stakeholders within the maritime and transport logistics sectors; informing and educating on technological developments and innovations, while providing wider opportunities for relationship building, business development and knowledge sharing.

The Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO) has joined forces with Dubai Maritime Cluster Office (DMCO) of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) to further boost the maritime collaboration between the two as both work towards strengthening their respective maritime industries by building a smart, vibrant, and sustainable maritime platform of cooperation for maritime operations and businesses.

BG Freight Line, in partnership with Maersk, is starting a new weekly service on the Waterford-Rotterdam route that will act as a deep-sea feeder for businesses in Ireland who are exporting or importing goods globally through Europe’s largest seaport. The new service is being introduced to support Maersk’s customers in the southeast and in response to the needs of some of the region’s largest industries.
